International og dansk praksis i notationen af lukkelyde

Konventionerne for dansk lydskrift er blevet debatteret meget de seneste år, og et særligt kontroversielt aspekt ved denne debat er notationen af de danske lukkelyde. Kontroversen er ikke forårsaget af en egentlig uenighed om hvordan de danske lukkelyde udtales, men rettere om hvilke aspekter af lukkelydenes udtale som det er vigtigst at repræsentere i lydskrift, og dermed også hvilket formål lydskriften bør tjene. Denne artikel diskuterer og evaluerer de forskellige forslag med baggrund i den instrumentalfonetiske forskning og internationale praksis på området med fokus på uenighederne i debatten. I den sammenhæng gives et generelt overblik over hvordan lukkelyde noteres med det internationale fonetiske alfabet (IPA) på verdens sprog. Artiklen viser at den gængse danske notationskonvention med symbolerne [b̥ d̥ g̊ pʰ tˢ kʰ] er usædvanlig i forhold til international brug af IPA, og den argumenterer for at konventionen i nogle henseender er uhensigtsmæssig fordi der ikke er nogen klar international konsensus om hvordan flere af tegnene skal tolkes. Jeg argumenterer desuden imod at IPA’s moderorganisation skulle være autoritativ når det kommer til fonologisk analyse, og derfor også når det kommer til brugen af fonemisk notation i skråklammer / /.
